WestBridge Director completes 2021 London Marathon
We are delighted to share the news that Founding Director, Tom Moore has completed his 6th London Marathon and has raised over £3,600 for his chosen charity – Round Table Children’s Wish Limited. Tom has also previously completed the New York Marathon.
Due to delays caused by Covid, the 2021 London Marathon took place on Sunday 3 October and in preparing for the event Tom hoped to beat his previous time of 4 hour 58 minutes which he achieved in 2016.
Commenting, Tom Moore said, “I am proud to have taken part in this year’s London Marathon. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped me, supported me, donated to the cause and cheered me on. I can’t believe the generosity of my donors! A sincere thank you to you all! I have been blown away by the kindness shown by so many and I’m pretty sure this is the largest total I have been able to raise for any event to date.”
He added, “Training has been tough, but with a little encouragement I was able to get round in one piece. Whilst 4hours 50 is not my slowest time, I think this will be my last London Marathon – unless of course I change my mind!”
Round Table Children’s Wish is a registered charity dedicated to granting handcrafted wishes for children and young people with life threatening illnesses across Britain and Ireland. Its history began in the late 1980’s, when a group of Round Table members decided to make a very poorly child’s dream come true. That child’s dream was to go to Disney.
The group worked hard raising money through a variety of fundraising events. Before long they had enough money to make the dream a reality. And so the very first wish was granted. Due to the success of the wish, the group continued to fundraise, making more dreams become a reality for poorly children. In 1990, Round Table Children’s Wish formed as an official charity.
